A Medford man was arrested when Ashland Police found his white Audi crashed into a ditch minutes after he sped away from a traffic stop early Friday morning, authorities said. Martin Derbigny, 22, of the 600 block of Palm Street, fled northbound on North Main Street from Laurel Street after becoming uncooperative during the stop at about 2 a.m., according to a press release from the Ashland Police Department. Police did not immediately pursue Derbigny after he fled the traffic stop, carried out by an APD officer, but found the car a few minutes later rolled over in a ditch where North Main Street meets the railroad tracks, the release said. Derbigny, who was cited by Medford police in 2010 and 2011 for driving with a suspended license, was arrested about 150 feet from the car and transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment, records show. Derbigny is lodged at Jackson County Jail for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, reckless driving, being a felon in possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, attempting to elude police on foot, and failure to carry a driver's license, jail records show.
