The Eagles outscored the Black Tornado 17-13 in matches actually contested to register a 59-13 victory in Southern Oregon Conference action. Eagle Point, ranked second for dual meets, improved to 5-1 in the SOC and 13-2 overall. The match of the night, according to Eagles assistant coach Rob Cowden, came at 160 pounds, where North’s Rob Folsom tangled with EP’s Christian Mannenbach. Folsom, ranked second at 160 in the state’s Class 4A ranks, registered a 6-3 win over Mannenbach, ranked fourth. Folsom recorded a takedown in the first period and an escape in the second to build a 3-0 edge. Mannenbach battled back with an escape and takedown to make it 3-all with 1:10 remaining in the third. But Folsom was cut loose for a one-point escape and then took Mannenbach down in the final seconds for two points and the final margin. "That was a great match," Cowden said. "Christian hasn’t been back too long from his injuries. ... It was a good match to see where he’s at." The Tornado’s two other victories were Jonny Ulrey’s pin at 103 and Jimmy Ulrey’s decision at 152. For the Eagles, J.P.
