Since You Asked: Rogue Disposal hasn't forgotten you or your trash Tuesday Jan 10, 2017 at 12:01 AM When should I expect my garbage and recycling to be picked up? No one came last week, so my bins are still sitting on the curb, and the trash is piling up. Can we expect a refund or credit for the missed service? — Janet R., Medford Janet, don’t blame Rogue Disposal & Recycling. Blame the 8-plus inches of snow that was dumped on our doorstep last week, forcing schools and many local businesses to close and the rest of us to clip on crampons. Rogue Disposal suspended service to its residential routes Wednesday, Thursday and Friday last week because its specialized, residential trucks couldn’t operate safely on the slick, snow-covered streets, explained Denise Barnes, recycling and community outreach coordinator for Rogue Disposal. “It wasn’t safe for our employees or the general public,” Barnes said. However, Rogue Disposal will collect your trash, recycling and yard debris on your regularly scheduled pickup day this week. Barnes said to keep the carts level and place any excess trash in bags or bins next to the cart, and it will be collected at no extra charge. It’s important that your carts are on the curb no later than 6:30 a.m. on your regularly scheduled pickup day, as pickup times may vary, Barnes said. “Everything will be caught up by the end of the week,” she promised.
