School asks scrip donors for records Sacred Heart School officials aren't sure exactly what happened to a store of donations, but they'd like recent donors to help them figure it out. Earlier this week, school staff noticed that school scrip -- certificates redeemable for merchandise -- plus cash and checks used to purchase the certificates were missing from a box in the office. They estimated for Medford police that the value amounted to nearly $3,400, but staff members are not sure. The scrip is a continuing fund-raiser for the West Medford Catholic school. The items were noticed missing during the school day; there was no break in of the school. School staff say they need to reconcile records to determine what exactly is missing and what steps to take to cut losses and protect donors. They are asking that people who have purchased Sacred Heart School scrip anytime since Nov. 19 report to the school their purchases and whether they paid by cash or check.
