The articles are well written, informative and unbiased. Especially instructive is the voting record of the three candidates on each topic discussed. Great job. S. Smith Medford Krause for commissioner Having lived in the Rogue Valley since 1979, I have watched our valley grow, and as a community we have worked to build a strong and safe place to raise our children and grandchildren. Our valley is no different than other communities across the country. We are facing major problems that require strong leaders who can put their politics aside and work with our public and private sectors to solve these pressing issues. Denise Krause is a leader who is willing to listen and work to solve the issues we face. Having grown up in a small, rural farming community, Denise cares about issues in small towns and rural areas. She will be there for all of Jackson County, unlike her opponent. It is time to stop playing politics and elect those who will serve all of Jackson County. Elect Denise Krause for county commissioner! Debbie and Bob McQueen Central Point Counter fear with your vote There’s a lot of fear out there. It’s one of the things voters have in common. Some fears are real: drought, wildfires, flooding. Some are “trumped up” like the big lie about voter fraud in 2020. Setting conspiracy dogma aside, the solution to real fears is solving those problems. 100 years ago, Oregon Republican Loyal Graham proposed a gasoline tax “to get Oregon out of the mud” and build roads. Most states followed Oregon’s lead. Nowadays, it’s fashionable for Republicans to shun government solutions. The most radical would abolish Social Security, Medicare, protection of our water, air, etc. When Democrats pass legislation that solves problems, they’re usually forced to without Republican support, like the Inflation Reduction Act. Oregon Republicans walk out rather than to even try. Instead of feeling fearful, support candidates who try. Today only Democrats work to solve our real problems. Please support them with your vote.
