Man stabbed in Veteran’s Park By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Jul 19, 2022 05:55 PM A A A man was stabbed Friday in Veteran’s Park in Medford, and his alleged attacker is in the Jackson County Jail. Police responded at about 9 a.m. July 15 to reports of a stabbing at the park, at 1601 S. Pacific Highway, according a news advisory from Medford police. When they got there, officers found a 47-year-old male with a stab wound under his left armpit. Medford Fire Department and Mercy Flights personnel rendered aid to the victim, who was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center for treatment. A detective on the scene learned the incident started as an argument between the victim and a woman at the location, police said. The suspect, Jose Antonio Marrero Delgado, 44, of the 800 block of Taylor Street, Medford, interjected himself into the argument and allegedly stabbed the victim, police said. Marrero Delgado fled the scene in a vehicle and was found by a patrol officer a short time later in a parking lot near the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Kings Highway, police said. Marrero Delgado was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail, where he remained Tuesday on $10,000 bail. The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
