My wife and I ate there one afternoon last month and the next day it was getting gutted out by a demolition crew! Is another restaurant replacing it? — "Fester" D. You ate them out of business, apparently, Fester! Bee Gee’s in Central Point is a thing of the past, but you can still get Bee Gee’s menu items at a new location in Medford. Soon. After 15 years, owner Glynn Allen, sold the property in recent months. Advertisement A popular lunch spot, Bee Gee’s was at 1017 E. Pine St. City officials say phone calls had been streaming in about the disappearance of the popular eatery. Allen said he sold Bee Gee’s because he wanted to retire — that is until the boredom set in and he changed his mind. Escaping from retirement, Allen gutted the restaurant just recently for use in his newest venture; a family friendly eatery dubbed "Molly Murphy’s: A House of Fine Repute." Located on Medford’s Barnett Road in a place that’s seen a number of eateries come and go in recent years, the new eatery is two blocks from Rogue Valley Medical Center. Allen said it will be unlike anything else in the valley. "Bee Gee’s was a coffee shop-type thing. We’ll be using most of the items off the Bee Gee’s menu for the new place, and adding some new items," said Allen, including steak, shrimp and a diabetic menu. "I’m pushing a fun atmosphere and I’m not going to tell what I’m doing but it will be different than anybody in town. The way our people are dressed and what they’re going to do. No one else has anything like it." As for Bee Gee’s former home, Allen said the new property owner plans to develop a three-story Bank of America, though city officials said no plans had been submitted as of yet for such a project.
