Hidden Valley picked up a victory from its girls 4x100 relay team. Hidden Valley’s girls finished sixth with 44 points and St. Mary’s was eighth with 23. Host Coquille won the girls portion with 73 points. In boys, St. Mary’s placed seventh with 27 points and Hidden Valley was eighth (25). Myrtle Point won the boys meet with 97 points. Sawyer posted good early-season marks in winning the 3,000 in 11 minutes, 5 seconds and second in the 1,500 (5:08). Wing won the discus (136-feet, 5 inches) and placed second in the shot put (44-2). Hidden Valley received good performaces from girl sprinters Dani Durbin and Liz Bailey. Durbin finished second in the 100 (13.68) and fourth in the 200 (30.22), while Bailey was fourth in the 100 (13.77). The Mustang winning relay team of Durbin, Bailey, Hannah Hoone and Nina Jarmillo registered a time of :54.73. Hidden Valley got a second-place from Jesse Hart in the boys 3,000 (9:16.35, a second from Tannis Kearney in the girls javelin (85-3) and a third from Hoone in the girls 300 hurdles (:53.92). Boys Golf GLIDE INVITATIONAL — At Myrtle Creek, Nelson Keating carded a 79 in leading Phoenix to a third-place showing in the 12-team tournament at the Myrtle Creek Golf Course. South Umpqua won the team title with a 319 total sparked by medalist Paul Radon (74) and runner-up David Renfer (75). Roseburg JV finished second with a 328 total, just five shots ahead of the Pirates (333). Illinois Valley took sixth, while St. Mary’s was ninth in the 12-team field.
