Ugly or not, Loggers claim Sky A south title Prep boys basketball GRANTS PASS -- It wasn't pretty, but Butte Falls coach Mike Harrington and crew will take it. Playing their fourth game in five nights, the Loggers clinched the boys championship in Skyline A League Southern Division play Saturday with a 44-41 win over New Hope Christian. "It was ugly and way too close," Harrington said. "Four games in five nights is not good. It was an ugly, ugly win but we'll take the championship." Dusty Harrington poured in 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting to pace Butte Falls (14-10, 10-2 Sky A), including a 2-for-2 effort from behind the 3-point line. Travis Smeltz and Jarred Dunlap added seven rebounds apiece for the Loggers, who play Powers in the Skyline A district tournament Friday at Scenic Middle School in Central Point. Junior Keith Howard pumped in a game-high 25 points for Prospect (8-14, 3-9 Sky-A), which led 13-11 after one period but was then blitzed 61-39 over the final three periods.
