The proposal includes the following: South Medford High — About $63.5 million would build a new high school to replace South in 2009, possibly at a 40-acre tract at Columbus and Cunningham avenues. North Medford High — About $50.5 million would replace four buildings and overhaul five other structures on campus in 2009. A third middle school — South Medford High would be converted into a middle school in 2010 for $14.2 million. Sixth-graders would move from elementary to middle schools in 2010. Jackson Elementary — The 95-year-old school would be closed in 2010 or 2011. Lone Pine Elementary — About $12.2 million would build a new elementary school to replace Lone Pine on the existing campus in 2009. Oak Grove Elementary — About $8.2 million would overhaul the structure inside and out in 2009. The school would gain two classrooms. Roosevelt Elementary — About $8.5 million would remodel the structure inside and out in 2010. The skeleton and exterior appearance will remain the same, but the mortar on the exterior will be replaced. The school would have two additional classrooms. Washington Elementary — About $7.2 million would remodel the school and improve earthquake resistance in 2008. The school would receive a new gymnasium and six additional classrooms. Abraham Lincoln Elementary — About $49,500 would add a fresh coat of paint to the school in 2007. Griffin Creek Elementary — About $2 million would give the school a city water connection, upgrade the parking lot and playground, replace roofing and flooring, add air-conditioning and new heating systems and replace windows in 2007. Hoover Elementary — About $2.8 million would make technology upgrades, add parking and whiteboards, replace roofing and flooring, replace windows, install new air-conditioning and heating systems and add new lighting in 2007. Howard Elementary — About $1.1 million would upgrade restrooms, replace roofing and flooring, replace windows and install new air-conditioning and heating systems in 2007. Jacksonville Elementary — About $463,000 would upgrade parking, provide a fresh coat of paint, enclose the breezeway, repair roofing, replace flooring and add new air-conditioning and heating systems in 2007. Jefferson Elementary — About $3 million would relocate kindergarten classrooms, buy window coverings, upgrade the playground, replace roofing and flooring, add lighting and air-conditioning, and replace windows and heating in 2007. Kennedy Elementary — About $1.9 million would improve campus drainage, add lighting, replace roofing and flooring, add air-conditioning and replace heating in 2007. Ruch Elementary — About $1.1 million would provide a new coat of exterior paint, upgrade rest rooms and locker rooms, replace roofing and flooring, add air-conditioning, replace heating and improve earthquake resistance in 2007. Wilson Elementary — About $3.6 million would upgrade rest rooms and parking, expand the cafeteria, replace roofing and flooring, add air-conditioning, replace heating and windows, add lighting and improve earthquake resistance in 2007. Hedrick Middle School — About $1.4 million would add air-conditioning, repair heating pipes, replace flooring and replace bleachers in 2007. McLoughlin Middle School — About $1.2 million would replace roofing, add new heating and air-conditioning systems, replace flooring and replace bleachers in 2007. Maintenance department — About $2.4 million would move the maintenance department to South Medford. Warehouse — About $1.3 million would move the warehouse to South Medford. School improvement fund —Nearly $2.6 million will go toward paying off a previous loan for other miscellaneous school improvements.
