DeBoer’s first-round pin of Eric Stewart in the 125-pound match, the final contest of the meet, nailed home a 30-26 victory for South Medford over Grants Pass in a Southern Oregon Conference wrestling dual meet. The Panthers, who trailed 26-24 heading into the last contest, needed a DeBoer victory to pull out the match. "We can’t beat anybody big," joked South coach Ken Thompson. "We’ve always got to take it down to the last match. I’m going to rename us the Cardiac Kids." South Medford (6-2, 3-1 SOC) picked up crucial victories at 103 from Matt Cornish and at 112 from Juan Aguilar to set up DeBoer’s climactic victory.
