St. Mary's tips North Valley JV The St. Mary's boys basketball team tuned up for the start of Southern Cascade League play with a 69-40 victory over the visiting North Valley junior varsity on Wednesday night. Senior post Geoff Haas scored eight of his 11 points in the first quarter as St. Mary's jumped out to a 20-5 advantage. Jason Caplan scored a season-high 14 points to pace the Crusaders, who improved to 11-2. His previous high was 12 points against Glendale on Dec. 21. Freshman Frank Fiddler also had 11 points for St. Mary's, while Cole Parmelee topped the Knights with 10 poitns.
