Man hurt when car hits stump A 32-year-old Medford man remained in intensive care Thursday after he apparently drove a car off a road east of Ashland and ran into a large tree stump. Stacy Ray Garrison was still in the intensive care unit Thursday night at Rogue Valley Medical Center. He was listed in serious condition. About 8:12 p.m. Wednesday, Oregon State Police received a report of a possibly intoxicated driver on Dead Indian Memorial Road east of Ashland. On the way out, the trooper found that a green 1979 Mazda RX7 had run 700 feet off the north shoulder of the road at Milepost 20 and crashed head-on into the stump. Garrison, the driver, was taken to RVMC, police said. At the hospital, Garrison had a blood alcohol content of .32 -- four times the legal limit to drive, police said.
