Raley takes lead for GPD trainers GRANTS PASS � Lacole, trained by Jeffrey Frank and making her first start since April 21 at Portland Meadows, rallied hard under Edgar Montehermoso to draw off and win Sunday�s featured seventh race by two widening lengths. After running up on another horse around the final turn, she checked hard, but returned to come again and come through on the inside. Delta Mae closed from last place to run second and See Ya Soon held down third. Scott Raley has taken the trainers lead by saddling two winners Sunday. Value Road raced gamely to win the third under Twyla Beckner, and Cashinova Da Limit went wire-to-wire in the fifth under Tad Skaggs. Skaggs closed the gap on Joe Crispin by winning three races and now has 14 wins for the meet. Crispin piloted two winners on the day to have 19 total victories. Jockey Tim Neal also had a successful afternoon by hitting the wire first on two winners. He scored both wins within 25 minutes by piloting Mary�s Delight to victory in the second race and returning to bring Jamestown Girl from far back in the third. Sunday was both the largest attendance (1,435) and biggest handle ($69,888). Racing resumes Tuesday, July 4th, at 1 p.m. with four stakes races slated. With the wins, Crispin extended his lead in the jockey standings to 17. Tad Skaggs won three races while trainer Shellie Quillan picked up a pair of wins.
