Shady Cove woman saves residents from fire in trailer A Shady Cove woman saved the lives of two people early Tuesday morning when she saw their trailer was on fire and woke them up. Dana Borges was coming home from work about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday when she saw a small fire on top of a travel trailer at the Rogue River R.V. Park, 21800 Highway 62, in Shady Cove. She drove into the park, honked her car horn and pounded on the door of the 30-foot trailer, according to Jackson County Fire District 4. The trailer owners, Edwin and Marita Stovall of Palestine, Texas, were asleep. While there was a smoke detector in the trailer, it didn't have a battery. The fire department credited Borges with saving the couple's lives and said they would have otherwise died from smoke inhalation. They did not need any medical treatment. Investigators were still trying to determine the fire's cause Tuesday, but the investigation was centered near the refrigerator, which was powered by propane.
