Gutches, Staten, McLean capture state wrestling titles Gutches, from Crater High, won the 112-pound freestyle championship and took second in Greco-Roman, while Staten, of Phoenix, earned the 160-pound Greco-Roman title and North Valley's McLean finished first at 189 in Greco-Roman and third in freestyle. Two other local wrestlers placed third in freestyle in Jeremy McLaughlin of Crater (160) and Brian Murphy of Phoenix (171). Ron Lee of Crater placed third at 160 pounds in Greco-Roman. Meeting slated Monday for North Medford athletes There will be a meeting Monday for those in the North Medford High attendance area wishing to participate in football, cross country, soccer or volleyball in the fall. Monday's meeting will be at 7 p.m. in the North Medford High gymnasium. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet with coaches from all sports offered at North, receive schedules and complete eligibility papers.
