RCC men get late goal for win over Lane By Mail Tribune staff Updated: Sep 22, 2021 09:13 PM A A Jhoel Sarraude found the back of the net in the 78th minute and the Rogue Community College men’s soccer team held on for a 3-2 win over Lane Community College at U.S. Cellular Community Park. Sarraude took a pass from Rosendo Josue Reyes at midfield, then drove his way past two defenders and eluded two more would-be tacklers before finishing past the Lane goalkeeper to break a 2-all tie. Sarraude has 12 goals through RCC’s first six games of the season. Flores recorded his team-best eighth assist on the goal. The Ospreys (5-0-1, 3-0-1 NWAC South Region) built a 2-0 lead on a 12th-minute goal from Zach Olson and Sarraude’s successful penalty kick five minutes later. Lane (1-4-1, 1-2-1) battled back to cut the deficit in half in the 25th minute, and then tied the game with a 60th-minute goal on a free kick. RCC next plays on the road at 12 p.m. Saturday against Clark College (1-1-2, 1-1-2) in Vancouver, Washington. The Ospreys are currently in first place in the NWAC South Region with 10 points.
