Adams' first hit in Pac-10 is homer against No. 3 UCLA CORVALLIS -- North Medford graduate Steph Adams slugged a three-run home run Sunday in the seventh-inning to close in on UCLA, but the third-ranked Bruins held on for an 8-7 Pac-10 win at Ropes-Fetrow Field. Roseburg High graduate Brynnen Guthrie smacked a double to start the rally with the Beavers trailing 8-3. Following a walk and an RBI double by Jenni Jodoin, which scored Guthrie, Adams stepped to the plate and muscled out her sixth homer of the year over the right field fence. The home run was Adams' first Pac-10 hit after starting league play with an 0-for-16 mark. The loss drops the Beavers to 26-12-1 overall and 0-6 in conference play. UCLA improved to 31-5 and 6-0.
