Roseburg puts halt to North streak ROSEBURG - North Medford High girls tennis coach Dale Jensen knew his team's four-year, 46-match win streak wouldn't last forever. And it didn't, ending in a nerve-wracking, 5-4 loss to Roseburg on Tuesday. Becky Torrell defeated standout North Medford freshman Erin Chamberlain 6-3, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, and the Indians went on to win three of the four singles matches to fuel the landmark victory. The Black Tornado's last loss came against Ashland in 1998. "I thought our girls were a little off today but, hey, they (Indians) played better and deserved to win," said Jensen, whose team won the Class 4A state championship last year. "Hopefully, this will motivate our girls to work a harder." The Tornado didn't go down without a fight. Kendra Ira and Sonia Aguilera posted a dramatic 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) victory over Roseburg's Valerie Jannelli and Kirsten Evenson at No. 4 doubles, knotting the team score at 4-4 with only one singles match left on the agenda.
