If Jackson County can't find a way to keep all 15 library branches open, what would happen to the buildings? Following is a preliminary answer from county officials based on leases and other arrangements made with cities. Ashland: The building and contents would be transferred back to the city. Applegate: The county's lease with the Ellis Trust for the land would end. Central Point: The county would continue to retain ownership of the first floor of the library. City offices are shared in the same building. Eagle Point: The county owns both the land and the building. Advertisement Gold Hill: The county owns both the land and the building. Jacksonville: The city would take ownership of the building. Medford: The county owns the building; the parking lot would revert back to the Medford Urban Renewal Agency. Phoenix: The county owns the building and land. However, the city can use a 150-square-foot meeting room until construction is completed on a new city hall. Rogue Community College: If the county decides to close the Central Library entirely, RCC, which leases part of the building, would have to remove all of its personal property and furnishings. Talent: The city, which already owns the land, would take ownership of the building and a parking lot. Rogue River: County owns the land and building. Ruch: County owns the land and building.
