Harrington stopped off in the county on Thursday and Friday of last week on his return from a tour of Klamath County. Mr. Harrington and County Superintendent Wells visited Rogue River, Foot's Creek, Gold Hill and the Dardanelles on Thursday, and Talent, Howard School, Central Point and Eagle Point on Friday, and found enthusiastic boys and girls in every school. Talent and Gold Hill each have over 40 enrolled in the project work, and it is predicted that the number of project workers in the county this year will be several times as many as last year. Gold Hill, Rogue River, Talent and Eagle Point are already making plans for big local fairs. At Eagle Point, Mr. Harrington gave his lecture, illustrated by stereopticon views, to the assembled boys and girls and parents, it being the orchestration of the regular Parent-Teachers' Association. The state department has just received from the press a new and attractive bulletin on the project work in the state. It includes pictures of the project winner last year and their records, including those of Claus Charley and Audrey Meyers. Of special local interest is the picture and  account of the Persist exhibit, which was shown with a placard announcing that it had some 350 miles by mail. Teachers should apply early for this bulletin, as the supply will soon be exhausted.   ASHLAND — "We, the undersigned, do hereby express our wish to become members of the Ashland Business Men's Association, and hereby agree to abide by the constitution and bylaws of the association, which stands for the betterment of business conditions, both from the merchants' and consumers' standpoints."  The logical outcome of the foregoing preamble, liberally signed by the business element here, was a rally at Moose Hall last Friday evening, when the Ashland Business Men's Association was launched. L.R. Merrick of Portland, secretary of the Oregon State Retail Merchants' association, was present and assisted the local men to organize, addressing them in the most optimistic and complimentary terms.
