Jville Council Q&A: Ken Gregg Oct 19, 2014 12:00 AM A A What is your top priority if elected? My top priority would be to research the relevant issues that are before the City Council right now and educate myself so that I can make sound decisions. There are a number of things, such as the dam notching, the courthouse and the fire house. They are all interconnected through funding. How would you fund notching of the reservoir dam? I have spoken with (City Manager) Jeff Alvis about that and with one of the councilmen. They spoke about grants as a possibility. If costs go higher than anticipated to update the city-owned courthouse for city offices , what would you propose? I don’t think it should go to the private sector at all. It was designed and built as a government building. There is grant money to be had. I’ve been thinking about using one of the local, nonprofit agencies as a fundraising entity that could funnel funds into paying for additional repairs and refurbishment. Ken Gregg
