Cascade ekes past Days Creek DAYS CREEK - It wasn't pretty, but for the short-handed Cascade Christian baseball team, a win's a win. The fifth-ranked Challengers (13-2), playing with only nine players in the non-conference affair, managed just three hits and committed four errors but held on to down Days Creek 4-3 on Friday. Cascade Christian pushed across the winning run in the top of the seventh without the benefit of a hit. A walk, wild pitch and then a throwing error produced the eventual game-winner in a sloppy-played game. Senior Matt Gmur picked up all three hits and all three RBI for the Challengers. "Matt usually hits in the eighth spot for us," said Cascade Christian coach John Bruce. "He's normally kind of a light-hitting guy but today he picked it up for us." Chad Harvey ran his pitching mark to 4-0 in the complete-game victory.
