tn 1911 I vent to a house of women. I find an Italian girl
she didn't speak a word English. She kiss me and she cried like anything.
That girl was brought from the old country by the Whitt Slaves. They brought
her here and when she arrived in this oountry, instead to give her a job,
they looked her in the house. She told me that some Italians they keep her
here and she beg me to do something for her. I give her a pencil to mark
down. I don't kiss her. I was paralysed. She mark down on the paper and then
she put her arm around my like that and she put the paper in my coat. They I
pay her and I vent out. She wrote her address in the old country and I show
that to a close friend of mine, an Italian. I don't tell him the place. "God,
we must save the girl. What Shall we dot Can we tell the polio*? Maybe they
will be after us, those exporters." Finally we give it to the polio. and he
took that girl out of that slave house. That time* in 1911 was in the age of
fire, but I always control myself, and I had that opportunity and save that
girl. I didn't even kiss her. /went with the intention of love."
