further that the subject received a portion of his education
under Public Law 16 and that he registered at Teachers Colle
Columbia University on February-Q, l9h6, under Public Law
Bub. These records show that the subject, prior to his
entrance into Teachers College, had five and one-half years
of college education during wmioh time he received a degree
of Bachelor of Science in English in 1935 from Mississippi
State College, Storkville, Mississippi. These records indi~
cate further that the subject on May 27, 19h7, registered
in the course of Student Teacher at Columbia University with
field work as a student teacher at Benjanin Franklin High
School, New York City. The subject received the degree of
Master of Arts February 26, l9h7, and entered Columbia
University on February 2, 19h8, to receive his teacher's

the subject had indicated in his letters that he was living in a small
town in the Los Angeles, California area. The subject had also advised
that he and his wife had worked on a small farm for a short time, and
the last information received from subject was that he was doing some
sort of private teaching.
Hr. COHEN advised that VA compensation checks continue to come
addressed to the subject at 2020 Walton Avenue, and that he has been
holding said checks until such time as he is able to learn the subject's
whereabouts and turn said checks over to the subject,

circumstances he was at a loss to explain the subject*s long absence.
He stated that inasmuch as he and the subject had always been on friendly
terms, he felt sure that he would be the logical one to know the subject's

exhibit a photo of subject and his wife, and also to conduct any other
appropriate investigation in an attempt to develop information concerning
subject's whereabouts. It is to be noted that a photo of subject and
