Running for the Democratic nomination for Jackson County Commissioner are incumbent Sue Kupillas and challenger Sue Densmore. Two Democrats, Peter Buckley and Judy Uherbelau, have filed for Oregon House position #5. All four candidates have been invited to speak at the Thursday, April 15th, LWV meeting at the Elks Club, 255 E. Main, Ashland. (Please enter from the rear parking lot entrance off the N. Second Street.) Candidates Kupillas and Densmore will begin the program at noon, followed by Buckley and Uherbelau. This meeting is open to the public. Lunch for $7 from 11:30 to noon. Please call Kate Culbertson, at 488-8693, for luncheon reservations by Monday, April 12th. The League will also sponsor forums on Rogue Valley Community Television (RVTV), channel 9. Candidates Kupillas and Densmore are scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, 6-7 p.m.. The forum for candidates Buckley and Uherbelau will be on Thursday, April 29, also 6-7 p.m.. The RVTV studios have moved from the third floor of the library across campus to their own building on Stadium Way. There is not enough room for an audience in the studio, but callers to the show will be able to ask questions of the candidates.
