Concerts will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, in the Music Recital Hall on the Southern Oregon University campus, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. Majkut will present talks one hour before each performance. Tickets cost $33, $38, $44 or $50. Student tickets cost $5. Tickets can be purchased online at rvsymphony.org or by calling 541-552-6398. Yuval Ron Trio: Oud player Yuval Ron, singer Maya Haddi and percussionist David Reihs will present Jewish, Christian and Sufi sacred music of the Middle East at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Unitarian Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland. The trio will be joined by local musicians Asha Slater and Jim Von Stein and belly dancer Zahara Solomon. Tickets will cost $28 at the door, $10 for ages 12 through 17. Kids 11 and younger get in free.  Orbison Spotlight Opening: Camelot Theatre's production of "Spotlight on Roy Orbison" will open at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at 101 Talent Ave., Talent. The performance, directed by Presila Quinby, will include vocals and rhythm guitar by Erik Connolly, and backup vocals and narration by Marlena Gray and Kathleen Marrs. Tickets cost $24, or $26 for reserved seating. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Jan. 23. Tapp studied with foremost classical guitarist Oscar Diaz of Mexico, and is the 212 winner of the Concurso National Salamanca national guitar competition in Mexico.
