Tickets on sale for Puss 'n' Boots Halloween event Submitted photos Wednesday Oct 19, 2016 at 12:01 AM Local report The 25th annual Puss ‘n' Boots Costume Ball & Auction will be held from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Historic Ashland Armory, providing an opportunity for a good time while helping a good cause. Funds raised will be used to find homes for animals at the Jackson County Animal Shelter.  Silent auction items include dinners and services, wine, one-of-a-kind items, pottery and other treasures in time for the holidays. There will also be an opportunity to donate to the Friends of the Animal Shelter's volunteer-supported programs. Participants are invited to dress up in their Halloween finest. Friends of the Animal Shelter is in its 26th year and currently has more than 200 volunteers assisting the Jackson County Animal Shelter with hands-on nurturing and socializing pets. Each year, FOTAS volunteers contribute more than 50,000 hours to the various programs. Its mission includes increasing pet adoption, improving the quality of life for shelter animals, promoting spay/neuter and supporting a foster program. In part because of the efforts of FOTAS volunteers and shelter staff, 92 percent of dogs and 60 percent of cats that come into the shelter are returned to their owners or find new permanent homes. Voted “the Best Halloween Party in the Rogue Valley,” the Puss 'n' Boots event sells out every year, so purchasing tickets in advance is necessary. Tickets may be purchased online at www.fotas.org/pnb or in person at Paddington Station, 125 E. Main St., Ashland.  The $45 ticket price includes dinner, dessert and dancing.
