Registration is open for the seventh annual Monster Dash Run for Education to be held Saturday, Oct. 31, in Lithia Park. The race includes cash prizes for top male and female runners in the 10-kilometer, 5-kilometer, and 1-mile fun run/walk, which are sponsored by Merrell at Earthly Goods. Gift card prizes from local merchants will be given to age-group winners in all races. All events are chip-timed and costumes are encouraged. Registration is available online at www.ashlandmonsterdash.com . Runners and others can gear up for the race at the Monster Ball Pasta Party, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Historic Ashland Armory. Community members are welcome, in or out of costume. Tickets are available on the event website or at the door. The Monster Dash costume contest will be held onstage at the Friday night event. The evening includes a pasta dinner, beer/wine cash bar, silent auction, kid activities, prizes, a deejay and dancing. Profits from the Monster Dash support grants in the Ashland public schools. The event is sponsored by Ashland Kiwanis, Ashland Schools Foundation and Yogurt Hut. See the website, www.ashlandmonsterdash.com , for more information or to register online.
