At 8:33 a.m. police were called to the downtown Starbucks on East Main Street because of a disturbance. Miller, 58, according to the Ashland Police Department log, was cited and released for disorderly conduct after yelling obscenities and throwing merchandise. The man, whom the police log refers to as a transient, had further troubles later in the day. At 1:57 p.m., he reportedly yelled obscenities and threatened bodily harm to a man after the man refused to give him a cigarette on East Main Street near Second Street. Several other people reported being alarmed by the incident, according to the police report. This time, Miller was arrested and lodged in Jackson County Jail. Ashland Police and Fire 5:15 p.m. Monday — Man, 37, cited for shoplifting three 40-ounce Steel Reserve 211 beers valued at $7 from Market of Choice, 1400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard. 3:45 p.m. Monday — Man reported passed out on RVTD bus, North Main Street near Maple Street. The man was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself and was taken to Medford detox. 12:57 p.m. Monday — Locked cabinet doors reported pried open at the Community Center, 00 block of Winburn Way. Nothing was reported missing, though the cabinets sustained $200 in damage. 12:14 p.m. Monday — Hit and run reported on the 400 block of Clinton Street, causing damage estimated at $1,500 to driver’s door. Incident occurred around 3 p.m. Saturday. 10 a.m. Monday — Notebook computer and related items valued at $1,620 and $10 cash reported stolen from a vehicle on the 1400 block of Woodland Drive sometime after 10 p.m. Sunday. 9:39 a.m. Monday — Hit and run reported on the 300 block of Hargadine Street, causing damage estimated at $1,000 to the rear, left quarter panel and sideview mirror. Incident occurred between 1 and 7 a.m. Monday. 9:24 a.m. Monday — Camera and lens kit valued at $1,500 reported stolen from locked vehicle on the 900 block of Spring Way. Incident occurred sometime Sunday night or Monday morning. 9:36 a.m. Monday — Resident reported a young male attempting to climb through a window into her residence on the 1100 block of Tolman Creek Road. The subject fled to a waiting vehicle when discovered, and the vehicle left the scene. Damage to window screen estimated at $20.
