'Winnie the Pooh' The children's classic, "Winnie the Pooh", comes to life in the Center Square Theatre on the SOU campus at 8 p.m., Thursday, February 20. Adapted from A.A.Milne's classic stories by Steven C. Anderson, the play captures the timeless appeal of the adventures of the famous Pooh Bear and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood. The play begins at a dinner party in England about 1926. Christopher Robin, played by Adrian de Forest, is sent off to bed, but not without bedtime stories from his father, played by Shepherd Schmidt; his mother, played by Georgina McKee; and the guests at the table, played by Daria Lisandrelli, Sean Kelly, Joseph Jesse and Bonnie Crawford who bring the Hundred Acre Wood to life. Jamar Burke directs the SOU production, with set design by Jennifer Wagner, costumes by Etai Alves, lighting design by Eric Holden and sound design by Chris Sackett. Performances are at 8 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, February 20 to 23, and Friday and Saturday, February 28 and March 1. Matinees will be at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, February 22 and 23 and March 1 and 2. Tickets are $15, $13 for seniors and $8 for students. Tickets are available at the SOU Theatre Arts box office located at the Theatre Building on the SOU campus.
