Sudoku will become a regular feature next to the comics. Each day, answers to the previous day’s puzzle will also be printed. And it is in Acts Two and Three that Jackson establishes, and then ratchets up the attraction between this huge, ugly monolith of a beast, Kong, and the beautiful, fragile Darrow. It’s what has always made this film so compelling. The script even includes a ricocheting reference to Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness.” But ultimately “King Kong” is not about a journey into the heart of darkness, but one that follows a trajectory straight to that place in the human heart that allows us to care.
