--> --> Expert on living wage will speak Ashland Daily Tidings Harvard living wage activist Aaron Bartley will speak at noon Friday in the Redford Lounge in the Student Union at Southern Oregon University. Bartley - a Harvard Law School graduate - worked with other students and workers on the Harvard campus to address working conditions on the campus. He helped organize a campaign which culminated in a 21-day takeover of the Harvard president's office and eventually the institution of a living wage of $10.25 for all workers on campus. The effort drew national attention and was covered by The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times. Service Employees International Union Local 503 is bringing Bartley to SOU, and the event is sponsored by the Student Media Collective and Oregon Action, the Medford-based group working to bring living wage ordinances to Southern Oregon. The Ashland City Council recently passed a living wage ordinance for the city and recipients of city money - the first of its kind in Southern Oregon. Email your...
