Construction will begin at 10 p.m. and go until 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3. Crews will continue the work 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday into Thursday, Dec. 4. The beams being set each weigh 34 tons, are 84 feet long and 33 inches tall. The new bridge built over the beams will have two lanes in each direction with sidewalks and bike lanes. The project is part of the total $72 million Fern Valley interchange project, which will feature the state's first diverging diamond interchange design.
