What's documented
The illusionist David Copperfield appears in Jeffrey Epstein's contact book and flight logs, and in court records unsealed in the Giuffre v. Maxwell litigation (List of people named in the Epstein files — Wikipedia). Unsealed documents reported by CNN describe Epstein's circle of associates as including Copperfield alongside other magicians and celebrities named in the files (CNN). Separately, an unsealed deposition reported by The Standard describes an alleged Epstein victim recounting a 2004 dinner at Epstein's home at which Copperfield performed, and asking her whether she was aware that girls were being paid to recruit other girls for Epstein (The Standard). The DOJ's January 2026 document release reportedly characterized Copperfield's relationship with Epstein as "very close," which Copperfield has publicly disputed, denying a friendship with Epstein.
