The Raiders (8-5, 7-1 Cascade Conference) won, 2-1, for their seventh straight win and remained atop the league’s South Division standings. SOU today hosts fourth-ranked and North Division leader Concordia (10-1-2, 6-0-1) at 4 p.m. Sophomore forwards Lisa Howard and Courtney Proden tallied for the Raiders. Advertisement Howard took a perfect midfield pass from freshman Hilary Rea, dribbled three times and sent a strong 10-yard shot past Geoduck goalkeeper Carly Steward in the 10th minute. Proden stole a weak goalie pass and fired it past Steward for what turned out to be the game-winner 33 minutes into the contest. Volleyball SOU 30-30-30, WARNER PACIFIC 18-15-11 — At Ashland, 19th-ranked Southern Oregon needed a little more than an hour for the Cascade Conference sweep at McNeal Pavilion. The Raiders (10-4, 8-2 Cascade) remained in sole possession of first-place in the league title chase with its 13th consecutive victory over the ninth-place Knights (5-13, 1-9 Cascade). Southern connected on 53 of 104 attack attempts — a .385 efficiency — while limiting WPC’s offense to more errors (21) than kills (20). SOU senior All-American outside hitter Kristina Matchett pounded 18 kills in 28 tries for a .571 clip, while senior middle Lindsey Aitchison was 12-for-19 (.579). Junior outside hitter Kristin Ferris added 10 kills and match highs of 12 digs and three blocks. SOU plays the second contest of a four-match home stand tonight at 7 against Cascade College.
