Melena Kristine Kotsios, 32, of the 2000 block of Melody Lane, Medford, pleaded guilty Friday in Jackson County Circuit Court to one felony count of delivering a controlled substance to a minor. Seven other felony and misdemeanor charges were dismissed. Police said that on Aug. 15 Kotsios gave alcohol and the prescription drug Percocet to four juveniles living at an OnTrack Inc. treatment center in the 200 block of West Fifth Street. Arrested on Nov. 19, Kotsios spent three weeks in jail before being released on her own recognizance. Kotsios no longer works for OnTrack. She was fired for policy violations about a week before her arrest, said Director Rita Sullivan. Kotsios was a new employee still in her probationary period with OnTrack, Sullivan added. A resident of the youth treatment facility disclosed the crime in a routine drug court hearing after Kotsios already had lost her job, Sullivan said. In addition to the probationary sentence, Circuit Court Judge Lorenzo Mejia ordered Kotsios to perform 120 hours of community service.
