Prospect gains revenge with three-game victory over stubborn North Lake Prep volleyball SILVER LAKE -- Prospect avenged an earlier loss to North Lake with an 11-15, 15-8, 15-8 Skyline A League Southern Division victory Friday over the Cowgirls. Senior Kary Linderman, a 5-foot-10 middle, notched 16 kills and 11 blocks as the Cougars improved to 6-4 in league play. Ginny Lewis added 10 kills and 25 digs, while Addie Stockebrand collected 21 digs. Prospect has rebounded to defeat Paisley, Hosanna and North Lake in the second round of league play and hosts unbeaten Butte Falls Tuesday. ELKTON 15-9-15, BUTTE FALLS 4-15-8 -- At Butte Falls, Elkton broke open a 7-6 lead in the pivotal third game to earn the non-conference win in a battle of Skyline A League powers. Elkton, second to Camas Valley in the Northern Division standings, stunned the Southern Division-leading Loggers by serving for the first nine points in the first game and coasting from that point. Butte Falls answered with a win in the second game, and appeared destined for a match victory in the deciding third game until Elkton turned a 7-6 lead into a 12-8 advantage. The Elks served the next three points to close out the Loggers (7-5, 6-0 Sky A South). Junior Elizabeth McLauchlan had three aces and nine kills to pace Butte Falls, which remained ahead of Paisley in the Southern Division. Junior Jade Torres had three blocks and sophomore Wendy McClelland added five digs for the Loggers, while sophomore Jessica Dunlap had 17 assists.
