Camacho scored in the third minute and connected twice in the second half. His brother, Christian, recorded a hat trick last week for the Pirates (6-1, 4-0 Skyline). The Pirates’ Fernando Rodriguez found the back of the net off a cross from Zach Castillo and added two assists, one of which set up Rosendo Flores-Juarez’s score in the 52nd minute. Led by the defense of centerback Joel Mereida-Ford, Phoenix limited the Vikings to just three shots, none of which threatened. MARIST 6, CRATER 0: At Eugene, Peter Hart scored in the 64th and 65th minutes to extend Marist’s edge to 4-0 in the Midwestern League contest. Crater (0-8, 0-2 MWL) trailed 2-0 at halftime as its senior defenders held the Spartans in check. Girls ASHLAND 3, NORTH EUGENE 3: At Eugene, Mya Elder-Hammond scored a goal and assisted on two others but Ashland had to settle for its fourth tie of the season. In the first Midwestern League game for both teams, North Eugene’s Jordan Wormdahl and Brittany Smith scored six minutes apart to give the Highlanders (4-2-2) a 3-2 lead with 22 minutes to go. Ashland’s Calysta Susu-Mago netted the equalizer on an assist by Elder-Hammond in the 66th. Elder-Hammond also assisted on Lilli Patton’s goal in the 22nd and connected on a free kick near the top of the penalty box in the 26th Ashland is 5-0-4 overall. MARIST 7, CRATER 1: At Eugene, Sydney Beck’s header on a cross from Katie Niedermeyer in the 13th minute accounted for Crater’s lone goal in their Midwestern League opener. The Comets (1-5-3, 0-1 MWL) surrendered five goals in the first 25 minutes. MAZAMA 4, PHOENIX 3: At Klamath Falls, Aspen Smith scored the second of her two goals with 15 minutes remaining to put Mazama ahead for good in the Skyline Conference match. The Pirates (1-5-1, 0-4 Sky) got two first-half scores from Daniela Escobedo for a 2-1 halftime lead. Teammate Guillernima Rodriguez tallied in the second half.
