Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend February 28, 2006 Police seek suspect in Medford, Central Point Meth Watch EDITOR’S NOTE: Crime Stoppers of Southern Oregon, in cooperation with the Mail Tribune and KTVL Channel 10, is participating in "Meth Watch," a program intended to combat the manufacture and sales of methamphetamine in Southern Oregon. Each week, Meth Watch will focus on a person wanted by Jackson or Josephine county law-enforcement agencies for delivery and/or manufacture of methamphetamine. Jeremy William Sitton is wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department on a charge of delivering meth within 1,000 feet of a school. He was indicted on the case in August but never appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court to hear the charge. Medford and Central Point Police also hold warrants for Sitton’s arrest alleging failure to appear in Circuit Court on the charges of possessing meth and ecstasy. Total bail on the warrants is $34,000. Sitton is described as a 25-year-old white man standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes. Advertisement He has the word "Sitton" tattooed on his neck, a band of barbed wire tattooed on his upper right arm and a tattoo on his back. He also has a pierced left ear and scars on his left forearm and a finger of his left hand. He may be using the alias of Jeremy William Dwyer. The picture shown in today’s newspaper was taken in December 2004. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case or any other unsolved criminal activity. Callers can remain anonymous. Meth Statistics: In conjunction with Meth Watch, the Mail Tribune compiles weekly statistics to demonstrate the effects of methamphetamine on our community. Arrests — Sixteen people were arrested last week and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on meth-related charges. Fifteen were arrested for possessing meth and one was arrested for possessing, delivering and manufacturing meth. Ten arrests were in conjunction with other criminal charges. Court appearances — Three people appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court last week on indictments charging possession of meth. Two defendants’ indictments included other criminal charges. Child welfare — The local child-welfare office of the state’s Department of Human Services removed eight children from six homes last week and placed them into protective custody due to meth use in the family. Addiction recovery — Twenty-six meth addicts entered outpatient treatment last week at OnTrack Inc. One meth addict completed inpatient treatment last week at Addictions Recovery Center (ARC). Two people were admitted last week to ARC’s sobering center while under the influence of meth.
