Death investigation closes I-5 near Phoenix By Mail Tribune staff Dec 28, 2019 07:34 PM A A Update: Oregon State police confirmed a person was killed after jumping from the overpass at Exit 24 on Interstate 5 Saturday evening. Northbound Interstate 5 was detoured south of Medford while emergency responders investigated the death.All lanes of traffic re-opened around 11 p.m. Saturday night. Motorists were detoured at Exit 24 near Phoenix onto Highway 99 after the incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a release from the Oregon Dept. of Transportation and TripCheck.com . Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.
