Herrmann shut out on new team During the end of the Southern Oregon Timberjacks' 1999 season, team owner Fred Herrmann stated and reassured those following baseball at Miles Field that he would have a team for us after moving the Timberjacks to Canada. What's the story on it? -- Sam L., Grants Pass It may still happen, Sam, but it won't happen this year. The Timberjacks have moved to Vancouver, British Columbia. The Western League (a group of independent professional teams) wants to bring an independent team to Medford, but potential owners -- including Herrmann himself -- have failed to step forward with the cash necessary for this year. That stopped that idea for 2000 in its tracks. Maybe next year? And maybe not, too. Money talks. (Send your questions to "Since You Asked," Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
