Seized among other drugs at 359 Bessie Street were shipping packages, shipping labels, marijuana in glass vials and nearly a cup of the liquid marijuana extract known as butane honey oil, according to affidavits filed by the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement task force in the cases of Mark Anthony Sotelo, Renee Nicole Sotelo, and Jesse Angel Yanez, who all lived at the residence. "With the evidence recovered, it appears the subjects were shipping marijuana via USPS," affidavits in all three cases say. During service of the search warrant at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, investigators seized 25 pounds of marijuana, 194 grams of butane honey oil, 16.34 grams of methamphetamine, 12.34 grams of heroin, 4.19 grams of cocaine and a 9 millimeter Glock handgun, according to court documents and earlier news reports. The raid involved MADGE detectives and the Medford police SWAT team. Investigators also found digital scales and new packaging in the home, which police said was evidence they were selling narcotics. "Through the course of the investigation, it is believed all subjects contacted during the execution of the search warrant were aware and involved in the illegal narcotic sales," an affidavit says. At initial court appearances Friday, Jackson County Circuit Court Judge David Hoppe ordered no early release for the three suspects unless they each pay the required 10 percent of bail amounts set at $500,000. Mark Sotelo, 31, Renee Sotelo, 41 and Yanez, 23, each face felony charges of manufacturing, delivering and possessing heroin; manufacturing and delivering heroin within 1,000 feet of a school; manufacturing, delivering and possessing cocaine; manufacturing and delivering cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school; manufacturing, delivering and possessing methamphetamine; manufacturing and delivering meth within 1,000 feet of a school; manufacturing a marijuana extract and possessing more than an ounce of marijuana extract. Mark Sotelo additionally faces a charge of contempt of court for violating his probation on a 2015 conviction for felon in possession of a weapon. In that case, Oregon State Police found a 9 mm handgun in his center console during a drunken-driving traffic stop on Interstate 5. In 2006, he was convicted in California of unlawful possession of a weapon, the court document says.
