We've compiled this list of mostly inexpensive activities geared to entertaining family members young and old. June 6, 13, 20 If it's a Tuesday in June, it must be time for Medford's All-Comers Track Meet, a free city-sponsored event for everyone that includes the 50-yard dash, the long jump and other favorites. It takes place at the North Medford High School track June 6, 13 and 20. Toddlers through 12-year-olds compete at 6 p.m. and teens through adult start at 7 p.m. Details: 774-2400. June 17 Celebrate the Southern Oregon Historical Society's 60th anniversary with free entry to the society's two downtown Jacksonville museums from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event includes entertainment, cake and special activities: Details: www.sohs.org or 773-6536. Advertisement June 17, July 22, Aug. 19 Hit Jackson Pool in Medford for family night. Mini golf is the theme June 17; pool bowling is set July 22 and swimming and a free picnic are planned Aug. 19. Hours are 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. June 17 and July 22 and 6-8 p.m. Aug. 19. Cost is $1 for adults, 75 cents for kids. Details: 774-2400. June 19 The Art Cart, the Medford Arts Commission's traveling arts and recreation show, offers free arts and crafts, games, a jump house and other activities Mondays through Thursdays through Aug. 3 at Medford parks. Here's the schedule: 9-11 a.m. Mondays, Union Park; 12-2 p.m. Mondays, Fichtner-Mainwaring Park; 9-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Howard Park; noon-2 p.m. Tuesdays, Hawthorne Park; 9-11 a.m. Wednesdays, Holmes Park; noon-2 p.m. Wednesdays, Orchard Hill Elementary School; 9-11 a.m. Thursdays, Wilson Elementary School; noon-2 p.m. Thursdays, Donahue-Frohmayer Park. June 21 Some of the cheapest movie seats around can be found at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Medford's Tinseltown theaters as part of the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse program. Offerings will include "Shrek," "Robots," "Ice Age," "Yours, Mine & Ours," "Stuart Little," "Rugrats" and others. The program runs June 21-Aug. 23. Shows are $5 for 10 shows in advance or $1 a ticket at the door. Details: 770-2508. June 22 Ashland's city band kicks off its summer concert series at Lithia Park at 7:30 p.m. and returns for a new show every Thursday through Aug. 10. Details: " target="_blank">www.ashlandband.org. June 24 It's BYOS that's bring your own seat for the US Cellular Movies in the Park June 24-Aug. 19 at Bear Creek Park amphitheater in Medford. Movies begin at dusk and are free. June 25 Free Sunday concerts at Bear Creek Park begin with pianist John Nilsen at 7 p.m. Concerts continue Sundays through Aug. 13. Details:www.ci.medford.or.us or 774-2400. June 29-30 and July 1-4 Raise the big top once more: It's Circus Chimera time in Ashland and Medford, with shows in both cities benefitting ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum in Ashland. Shows kick off at 7:30 p.m. June 29-July 3, with additional performances at 4:30 p.m. June 30-July 4 and at 1:30 p.m. July 2 and 4. July 7 If Saturdays in Medford don't provide movies enough, head on over to Central Point's Pfaff Park, where the city will show free family-oriented movies at dusk every Friday through Aug. 25. July 9-11 The 40th annual Children's Festival will set up shop on the Britt Grounds in Jacksonville July 9 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., 10 9 a.m. to noon and 6-8:30 p.m. and 11 9 a.m. to noon. The event organized by Jackson County Library Services and the Storytelling Guild features four dozen activities for kids as well as entertainment, storytelling and other events. Cost: $2. July 11 Dancers will be on their toes for four Tuesdays at Lithia Park in Ashland this summer, when Ballet Rogue returns for evening performances at the Butler Band Shell. July 18-23 The Jackson County Fair kicks off July 18 with daily midway specials, agricultural and craft displays and entertainment. July 22 The city of Medford's first cardboard boat races — that's right, racers compete in boats they've constructed of cardboard — begin at 1 p.m. July 22 at the Hawthorne Park pool. The entry fee is $5. Details: 774-2400. July 29 Missoula Children's Theatre brings its annual production to Medford the week of July 24 and will involve local children in staging "Robin Hood" at the end of the week. The performances that cap the week's effort are set at 2 and 7 p.m. July 29 at the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater in Medford. Tickets will go for $10 for adults, $7 for kids. Details: 779-3000.
