Medford schools to host ‘kindergarten launch’ By Kevin Opsahl Updated: Apr 05, 2022 03:44 PM A A If your child will be 5 years old by Sept. 1, the Medford School District wants to get him or her into kindergarten next fall. The district issued a news release advertising a “Kindergarten Launch” event from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, “at your neighborhood school.” “We encourage families to bring their child for their experience,” the release stated. Parents who attend will need to bring their child’s immunization records, birth certificate and proof of address to register. Aside from being able to register their children for kindergarten, parents will have an opportunity to meet school staff, get questions answered and receive tips on preparing their child for time in this early grade level. “We want to get to know our kindergarten students and families before school begins, and begin to engage them in activities and events at the school,” Deputy Superintendent Jeanne Grazioli said in a prepared statement ahead of the event. “It will be an informative and exciting evening.” If parents are not sure which school their child should attend, they can do a school search at https://app.guidek12.com/medfordor/school_search/current/ .
