SOU rolls over Embry PRESCOTT, Ariz. Southern Oregon University wrestling coach Mike Ritchey expected a tough battle with Embry-Riddle on Saturday night. But Ritcheys Raiders took command from the opening whistle and rolled to a 36-6 victory, improving their season record to 4-1. Ryan Schumann (184) and Devin Cole (285) registered falls, Zachary Mock posted a technical fall and John Sills scored a big victory over Embry-Riddles Brian Campbell at 165 pounds as SOU won eight of the 10 matches. Sills ran roughshod over Campbell, the No. 2-ranked NAIA wrestler at 174, with Campbell ultimately getting disqualified after getting called for stalling five times. "Sills had him so tired the kid couldnt wrestle anymore," Ritchey said. "He (Campbell) was hanging on to Johns ankle and wouldnt move up. He basically disqualified himself." Schumanns fall came over Eric Ortegren, who is ranked No. 4 at 184. Schumann is ranked No. 7. "Schumann turned him with his legs and pinned him with a double grapevine," Ritchey said. "It was good to finish the first half of the season on a positive note. Now we can come back after Christmas and keep the momentum going."
