Rogue River Fire District No. 1 levy receives majority support May 20, 2014 12:00 AM A A A ballot measure that would create a 10-year levy to fund station updates and new equipment and vehicles for Rogue River Fire District No. 1 was seeing support from voters in early results. In the first round of counted ballots, the measure was passing 864, or 64 percent, to 491, or 36 percent. About 39 percent of the votes have been counted thus far. The proposed levy under Measure 15-123 would assess 25 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, intended to replace a 20-year capital improvement bond that expires in August. If passed, it's estimated the levy would raise about $130,811 for 2014-15. By the 2023-24 fiscal year, it would raise about $170,679. — Ryan Pfeil
