MILLER TO SPEAK TO WILSON CLUB The Woodrow Wilson league of this city, assisted by the Woodrow Wilson league in other parts of southern Oregon, will hold a public league meeting at the Natatorium at 8 o'clock on Monday evening, May 8, at which addresses will be delivered by such distinguished speakers and orators as Colonel Milton A. Miller, collector of the port of Portland; Hon. T. H. Crawford of La Grande, and Dr. J. W. Morrow of Portland. Local speakers will also speak on subjects appropriate to the work of the leagues of the state. Much information of special interest to a very large and rapidly growing non-partisan element of citizenship will be given in these addresses. Mr. Crawford and Dr. Morrow are candidates for election as delegates to the democratic convention. Music, both vocal and instrumental, will be rendered. The program includes abundant room and cause for enthusiasm of the good, old-time kind. Everybody is earnestly invited to hear these addresses and the music. SOCIETY The committee of arrangements for the conference of the Congress of Mothers and Parent-Teacher association, which was held in Medford on Monday and Tuesday of this week, wishes to express appreciation to Miss Grace Mitchell, head of the domestic science department of the schools and the girls who helped her for the delicious luncheon which was so daintily served to the officers and their guests at the high school Tuesday. The value of efficiency of the domestic science department was fully demonstrated and the luncheon was one of the most delightful features of the conference. The Woman's Foreign Missionary society of the M. E. church will give a pageant titled "Glimpses Along the King's Highway," Sunday evening, May 7, at 8 o'clock. The cast consists of forty women in Oriental costume. The recitations and music will be very interesting. This is the occasion of their thank offering service and the society extends the public a cordial invitation to attend.
