Summit boys rally for win over North Aug 27, 2016 12:00 AM A A The North Medford boys soccer team led early before falling, 3-2, to Summit during their nonleague season opener on Saturday at North Medford High. Caleb Forte capitalized from 17 yards out using a nice pass from Jose Gallegos in the 25th minute, evening the match at 1. The Black Tornado took a 2-1 lead after Luis Cerna set up Carson Ehlers on a successful diving header in the 33rd minute. A few second-half defensive lapses allowed Summit to pull ahead with goals in the 65th and 68th minutes. The Storm recorded an 11-0 corner kick advantage in the win. Girls Soccer SUMMIT 4, NORTH MEDFORD 0: At Bend, Summit won the nonleague season opener. Midfielders Brooklyn Snow and Haley Hayes submitted strong performances for the Black Tornado, which trailed 1-0 at halftime. Volleyball I-5 BRAWL: At Redding, Calif., North Medford went 2-3 at the Redding I-5 Brawl on Saturday.The Black Tornado beat Foothill, 18-25, 25-20, 15-12, and downed Bear River, 25-17, 25-20.North earlier lost to Grants Pass, Shasta and Pleasant Valley.
