In Medford last year, there were nearly 1,000 young people up to age 22 defined as homeless. Following is a breakdown of the numbers of homeless young people in each category: Kids living in cars, trailers, campgrounds: 89. Kids who are "couch surfing": 73. Kids who are "highly mobile," moving three or more times in one year: 215. Advertisement Kids living in a shelter: 46. Kids living with two or more families in a single home: 378. Kids living on the street or in unknown conditions: 140. How you can help If you’re interested in aiding homeless families or the program that helps them, call Mary Solomon at 261-0956 or 842-3432. Those wishing to donate to the St. Anthony homeless shelter may call St. Vincent de Paul at 772-3828.
